Spain Focus

‘National Focus Project’ in 2022, which has been held since 2010. Not only the picturesque landscape of Spain but also its diverse culture and distinct music styles, influenced by Roman Catholicism and the Muslim, have attracted a lot of people.

The 19th Jarasum Jazz Festival features young and talented 4 musicians who currently lead the Spanish jazz scene. Furthermore, the most renowned illustrator Sonia Pulido is in charge of making an official poster for the festival. A film screening event also takes place, so visitors can enjoy Spanish movies and a concert performed by a Spanish pianist.

Like other countries, Spanish jazz is an authentic cultural blend with a wide range of music, from Jota, flamenco, Islamic music to electronic music. Each region in Spain has their own distinctive musical characteristics. In Jarasum Jazz Festival, every Spanish musician comes from different regions: Salamanca(Daniel Garcia Trio), Galicia(SUMRRÁ), Catalunya(Barencia), and Mallorca(Joana Gomila & Laia Vallés), each representing different style and background of Spain.

2022 Jarasum Jazz X Sonia Pulido

“All the documentation about the festival showed people having a great time playing music and listening to the music and dancing.

The location was very special and beautiful and gave a very good vibe. That's what I wanted to show with the poster.

A beautiful environment, in the middle of nature and people enjoying the concerts. "
